About Lachie & The 222

Our purpose: “To raise funds and awareness for Australians living with depression and anxiety by running a half marathon every day for 222 days – proving there’s no such thing as impossible.

“Too Hard, Too Far, Too Ambitious”

That’s all avid runner and filmmaker Lachlan Spark has heard since he first floated the idea of running the entire length of the Australian East Coast for charity – way back in 2015.

The only thing in his life which gave him hope was running.

A lot has changed in Lachlan’s life since then. He’s built a successful creative agency. He’s been married – and is soon to be divorced. He’s moved from Melbourne, and built a new life back by the beach in Bondi with the love of his life, Courtney, and their Golden Retriever puppy, Fabrizio. He’s watched as COVID decimated his once-thriving business – wiping out 95% of its revenue overnight.

His resilience has been tested like never before….

…but the one thing that has stayed consistent through incredible turmoil has been his love of lacing up his runners and hitting the streets.

“Through adversity comes opportunity”

Over the last 5 years, life got in the way of turning his dream into a reality, but with the extra time COVID has afforded him, Lachlan is more determined than ever to make the best of an incredibly challenging time – not only for himself, but for those Australians doing it tough.

So – on September 17, 2021 (his 42nd birthday), Lachlan will take the first steps of a 4700km odyssey from Hobart, Tasmania, to Cairns in Far North Queensland.

RUN 21.1km every single day for 222 days. RAISE $1,000,000 for charity.

The world record for the most number of consecutive half-marathons currently stands at 103 – which Lachlan plans to more than double in the 7+ months he’s on the road.

Along the way, he’ll document the journey in video, stills and on social media, producing a documentary at the conclusion of the run to get the story of The 222 out to millions of people around the world.

Lachlan is hoping to partner with like-minded businesses and individuals to not only help bring this epic adventure to life, but to prove – together – that nothing is impossible.

Your support would mean the world.

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
